Soma Group works with a company's senior management to:

  • educate management and employees in injury prevention;
  • assess the health of their workplace;
  • develop wellness programs that work; and
  • implement and evaluate the programs.

We strive to create long term relationships with businesses assisting them in creating a worksite that remains healthy and productive.

Soma Group offers training modules in injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance enhancement. Participants learn firsthand how our habits, beliefs, and reactive patterns contribute to workplace injuries and pain; and they leave with the practical tools for awareness, prevention, and repair.

Finding Neutral – An introduction to injury prevention basics. Participants learn how to create healthy posture, how to move without risk of injury and they learn gentle movements promoting rehabilitation and self care. According to OSHA, US Department of Labour, "On average, musculoskeletal injuries with lost workdays require 40% more time away from work than other injuries and illnesses with lost workdays."

Spine Align – for those with stressed or chronically painful backs or those at high risk for back injury such as shippers, health care workers, and grocery clerks. Back injuries are the single most frequent disorder requiring days off from work – more than 490 600 back injuries resulted in time away from work in one year. (U.S. Bureau of Labour Statistics, 1996). The average cost of a workers' compensation claim for low back pain is $8321 US funds. (Wellness Matters, Michigan, USA)

Heads Up – for office workers, computer programmers, and others who experience neck soreness or frequent tension headaches.

Ergonomic Consulting – ergonomic evaluations, risk assessments, employee and supervisor training. Soma Group will guide or assist with any stage of Program Implementation. We can work with the Health and Safety Committee during program design, promotion, implementation and evaluation.
